5th Junior & 10th Senior State Para Swimming Championship – 2024
Coimbatore, October 8, 2024:
The 5th Junior & 10th Senior State Para Swimming Championship – 2024 was successfully conducted on October 8, 2024, at the scenic campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amrita University, Amrita Nagar, Ettimadai, Coimbatore – 641112. The prestigious event was organized by the Coimbatore Para Sports Association under the aegis of the Tamil Nadu Paralympic Sports Association, and in proud association with the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT).
The championship received enthusiastic participation from para-athletes across the state, showcasing remarkable skill, determination, and sportsmanship in various swimming events. In addition to the competitions, an official Para Swimming Classification was conducted to assess and categorize athletes based on their abilities, ensuring fair and competitive participation.
The event was presided over by Smt. Sharmila Ram Anandh, President of the Coimbatore Para Sports Association. The Chief Guest, Shri. Er. R. Chandrashekar, President of the Tamil Nadu Paralympic Sports Association, and Vice President of Paralympic Committee of India graced the occasion and lauded the efforts of the athletes and organizers alike.
The championship was notably supported by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, whose world-class facilities and welcoming campus provided the perfect venue for this inspiring event. Their support was instrumental in ensuring the smooth conduct of the championship.
